Leakesville, MS 2009 DOC
As Jim Harris reported to me and I am in complete agreement… ”what a way to start off the New Year in the great state of Mississippi!” Mike McCoy gave out life changing information to 2,950 students speaking to them on how decisions determine destiny! As he finished and the cards came back in…. 738 students had made decisions for Jesus! In the Junior HS the Principal was thrilled with the program and the timing….he shared with us that 60 of his kids were identified as being abused…God’s timing is always perfect!
A special thanks goes to Bobby Rutledge “and friends” who were instrumental in putting together the CFL event in Quitman, and to Rod and Vivian Smith, who were hard at work in Laurel, paving the way for Mike to get into the schools! These events simply would not happen without the effort and dedication of great local leaders!
Again, Mike McCoy hit a home run at Spiritual Enrichment with his message on “Who we are in Christ”. When Larry Rowe finished leading the team in praise and worship, they were ready for battle on Saturday as they prepared to go into SMCI, with a population of over 3,000 inmates! God showed up and approximately 400 decisions were recorded!
Chaplain David Smelser and Superintendant Ron King worked together to allow unprecedented access for our teammates! And CFL coordinators: Rod Smith, Joe McDonald, Bob Stubblefield, Howard Loveless, and John Heideman worked side by side with the security team to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
As always, the bikers showed up!! William Warren led the MS CMA team into the prisons, complimented by others like Church Martin’s “Pensacola crew” who seemed to still be fired up by the recent victory in December. We were thrilled to have Dave Walker back with us, keeping the transportation intact.
Matthew 9:37-38 “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.
Thank you for being one of the few!
Blessings,
